Nationally scarce weevil found at London Wetland Centre
04th May 2008
On a recent visit to the WWT London Wetland Centre in Barnes I took this photo of an interesting beetle.

After looking through three different field guides I was unable to identify the species.
I sent the photo off to the WWT and they sent it off to their experts. The insect was indentified as a Platystomus albinus which is a 'Notable B' species meaning it is nationally scarce.
Thank you to Sue Fulford at the WWT and to Martin Honey and Max Barclay for their identification.
